Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise sits in Savoie, high in the Tarentaise valley above Bourg-Saint-Maurice, close to the Italian border and surrounded by the Vanoise mountains.
We’ll be in and around the village for the weekend, with more precise meeting points and transport notes to follow.

Sainte-Foy is tucked into the Haute Tarentaise valley in Savoie, above Bourg-Saint-Maurice and close to the Vanoise mountains. Here’s the practical shape of getting there, staying nearby and making a summer weekend of it.
Bourg-Saint-Maurice is the nearest station, around 30 minutes away by car. In summer, S82/S83 buses towards Tignes and Val d’Isère can drop you at Sainte-Foy Chef-Lieu or La Thuile.
The closest international airports are Chambéry, Geneva, Lyon Saint-Exupéry and Grenoble Alpes Isère. Taxis and private transfers run from airports and the train station.
Sainte-Foy sits in Haute Tarentaise, about 18km from Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Geneva is roughly 201km away; Chambéry is around 116km.
Aim for Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise village, Sainte-Foy Station or nearby hamlets once we share exact meeting points.
The tourism office lists hotels and B&Bs, tourist residences, chalets, apartments and mountain refuges.
Summer is calmer than winter, but we’d still suggest booking early if you want to stay close to the village.
In summer, the Grand Plan chairlift takes you up to the Plan Bois plateau at 1,740m, with hiking, mountain biking, Chez Léon and mountain karting.
Tourism routes include Plan Bois, La Raie waterfall, Le Monal and loops around Echaillon and Plan St André.
The summer activity list includes mountain biking, around-the-water activities, tree climbing, heritage walks, wellness and multisports.
Sainte-Foy has restaurants and bars across the village and resort, including traditional French and Savoyard cooking.
The tourism site lists local shops and services, plus the tourism office at Sainte-Foy Station for practical questions.
Check seasonal bus times, lift opening dates and restaurant hours before travelling; we’ll add wedding-specific updates here.
